- The presentation of the draft Strategic Employment Plan "comes two years late", according to the councilor and spokesman of the orange training, Manuel Padin, who believes that "now the important thing is to reach a great agreement in which all parties we commit ourselves to apply it "
- The Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, ratifies her commitment to promote the conference on the Logistics Activities Zones
The Municipal Citizens Group has been since the beginning of the legislature in 2015 demanding intensely and repeatedly the reactivation of the Local Employment Board and the presentation of the draft of the Strategic Plan for Employment in Cartagena.
"Today they give us a draft that arrives at least two years late and in the absence of a year to finish the term," lamented Orange spokesman in Cartagena, Manuel Padin, who recalled that in 2016 "the unions already announced publicly at a press conference that they had agreed with the Confederation of Business Organization of Cartagena (COEC) a document with the lines to follow to try to reduce unemployment, change the productive model better, and boost the economy of the municipality.
Citizens assure that it will not contribute to lengthen even more the deadlines, "we want to be constructive, fast and efficient so that the Strategic Plan for the Employment is a reality soon and it begins to be applied as soon as possible, and I hope that with deadlines, and schedule of investments ", says Manuel Padín, who understands that" it is important that we achieve a broad consensus so that this employment plan is assumed by any possible municipal executive from 2019 ".
The spokesman of Cs has assured that his Group, "will analyze in detail each one of 60 pages of this draft to be in disposition to contribute our proposals in the time that has been established".
During the meeting, Manuel Padín recalled that in the last session we applauded our proposal to organize in Cartagena a conference on the Logistics Activities Areas in Spain, with representatives of the ZAL of Algeciras, Asturias or Valencia to know their experience, as well as the influence they have exerted on the economic development of their environment. "The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has ratified her commitment to promote this action immediately.
Stoppage stalled in Cartagena and Mesa Comarcal
"Cartagena does not reduce unemployment at the same pace as other municipalities in the Autonomous Community, and its rate is still the highest among the large municipalities in the region, the number of unemployed people have been stagnant for more than 17,000 people and above 17 percent since the summer of last year, "the orange spokesman has warned.
For Padín is "inexplicable that the Community has not moved a finger to convene, after almost six years, the Regional Employment Board."
The last time the Regional Committee was held was on November 28, 2012. "Citizens want to correct this joke, so we have already asked our colleagues in the Assembly to promote a new call to refound the Board Regional Employment, with new assessments, new objectives, and new strategies, so that from there arises the commitment of continuous work over time, whoever is in the government of each of the municipalities from the year 2019 ".
