The XII edition of the AOTEC Telecommunications Fair is held at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, on May 31 and June 1.
Under the slogan 'Technology to connect the world', this event of national relevance, has brought to the municipality more than 100 companies in the sector of local telecommunications operators and has scheduled a large program of conferences.
The president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, attended the inauguration ceremony;
the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;
the Minister of Finance of the Region of Murcia, Fernando de la Cierva, the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Alejandro Díaz;
the president of AOTEC, Antonio García Vidal;
and the president of the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia, Joaquín Hernández.
The central axis of this professional meeting are broadband networks, but also addresses issues such as cybersecurity, the Internet of Things (IoT, for its acronym in English), smart cities or 5G.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has highlighted the importance for the municipality that an event of this size at the national level returns to Cartagena, where he was born 12 years ago.
In addition, the first mayor of the Cartagenero Consistory, has indicated that it is a fair at the highest level in which all the companies that have gathered talk about the importance of the world of communications, so it was inevitable to be held in a institution like the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
He also took this opportunity to congratulate the UPCT and AOTEC for the agreement they have recently signed and with which they will be able to continue advancing and researching together.
This Fair, a national reference in the field of telecommunications is one of the largest professional meetings to be held in the Region of Murcia this year.
It specializes in local telecommunications operators, a sector composed of more than 1,000 SMEs that provide services, especially in municipalities of less than 50,000 inhabitants and that are distributed throughout the national territory.
The exhibition area occupies more than 2,000 square meters in the School of Business Sciences of the UPCT and has 148 stands, which makes it 30% higher than on the previous occasion.
This professional event has brought together the main international and national providers in those areas offered by telecommunications operators.
Thus, participants can visit companies specializing in the creation and management of broadband networks, advanced telecommunications solutions, as well as some of the most important audiovisual content producers in the United States, Latin America and Spain.
The president of AOTEC, Antonio García, has pointed out the relevance that these companies have when it comes to generating stable and qualified employment.
Similarly, he said that "the operator who wants to be a leader and be up to date should visit this fair to be aware of the developments in the sector."
