This Friday June 1, the Callejón de la Soledad will become a radio studio, one of the actions developed by the Mucho Más Mayo festival organized by the Department of Culture, where, with the help of Eduardo Balanza and Pedro Walker, We will stroll through elements such as architecture, sustainability, urbanism and the deterioration of the environment, among other elements, with La Algameca as a field of experimentation on a real scale of a unique natural environment.
The project takes precisely this curious enclave on the coast of Cartagena to trace a story as a Radio Session, in which the protagonists are the surroundings and the radio.
This piece that is staged aims to open a debate on the need to adapt as soon as possible to the problems that emerge as a result of the misuse we make of natural heritage.
The project is inspired by the settlement of La Algameca Chica to establish a link between creativity, human spontaneity, contemporary architecture and the tools of transformation of the environment through a radio performance and installation with photographs, music, screenings and interviews in direct over 90 minutes.
The photographic exhibition will also be the result of a research work that Eduardo Balanza has been developing for about 10 years around the life of cities.
Combining images of Cartagena and La Algameca with other cities such as Sarajevo or Beirut.
These investigations serve as a backdrop to discuss new problems in ancient cities, reconstructed again and again as is the case of Beijing, where the author has recently returned.
Starting at 9:30 p.m., the curious are invited to experience one more chapter of their research, linked to the port city, its fabulous history and the peripheral settlements that have been happening in recent decades.
