The Mar Menor will be the scene of different sports events between June 8 and August 4.
The sixth edition of Paraíso Extrem will feature a 7-kilometer cross, but it will also include other sporting events such as canoeing, beach volleyball, aquathlon or soccer.
The Councilor for Sports of the City Council of Cartagena, Obdulia Gómez, together with the Vice Chancellor of Communication of the University of Murcia (UMU), Javier Martínez and the president of the group Disciples of EMAUS, Julio González, have offered to the media all the details of the VI Paraíso Extrem UMU.
The star test will be the cross of 7 kilometers that will run along roads, boardwalks and beaches of the Mar Menor coast.
The sporting event will be on Saturday, June 9, with departure from the Playa Paraíso Sports Center at 7:00 p.m., and with arrival scheduled at 9:00 p.m. on the same site.
The test will have two categories, one for adults and one for children.
In addition, as a novelty this year the organizers will reward the club that has more representation in the test with a ham and another, the club that placed more athletes among the top 20 classified.
Councilor for Sports, Obdulia Gómez, said that the City Council supports all sports, especially those that have a character of tourism promotion of the municipality as is the one that has the Extreme Paradise, "through sport and physical activity we try to make it serve as a tourist attraction. "
For his part, the Vice Chancellor of Communication of the University of Murcia (UMU), Javier Martínez, said that the UMU is sponsoring this event in the new line of the university to promote a healthy life with good habits, besides contributing to the tourist promotion of the Mar Menor.
Finally, the president of the Disciples group of EMAUS, Julio González, has explained all the tests that will complete the cross on June 9th.
The activities will begin on Friday, June 8, with the scooter trophy and a karate exhibition.
On June 15, the sports schools will take over with an exhibition and soccer tournaments.
The beach volleyball championship will celebrate its second edition on June 16.
And the sports activities will end on August 4 with a aquatlon and a cross at sunset in the paradise of the Mar Menor.
