The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, this morning has achieved in the meeting of extraordinary spokesmen that the support of the majority of the political groups has been celebrated for the celebration of an extraordinary and monographic plenary on June 7 on the arrival of the Alta Speed to Cartagena.
The groups have also supported that the neighbors, through representatives that the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Cartagena and District (FAVCAC) designate, attend this plenary to present their proposal.
"We can not make decisions with our backs to our neighbors and that's what all the political groups have agreed on.
Even those who have questioned that they presented a proposal to pen.
I do not care if the proposal is a pen, pencil or computer.
If it comes from the neighbors, I'm interested and we should listen to it.
So long have we waited, that a month more to know his position would not be a big delay.
This is what the Ministry and the Community should have understood, "said Ana Belén Castejón.
The mayor has called the representatives of municipal groups, social groups and City Council technicians to a meeting to be held this Friday, June 1, to analyze in detail the different proposals for the arrival of High Speed to Cartagena
"We have to ensure that the execution of the railway infrastructures guarantees the urban expansion of the city and does not divide it in two, conditioning our future, as the project approved by the Ministry and the Autonomous Community provokes without taking into account this City Council and the neighbors.
The neighborhood proposal includes the option of the arrival of the AVE to an intermodal station, taking advantage of that of Víctor Beltrí, which would also accommodate suburban trains, buses and FEVE, given the proximity of the stations of both transports.
We can not forget that yesterday a suburban project was presented for the Region in which Cartagena is not contemplated, which is once again the great forgotten of the central and regional governments ", Castejón has clarified.
With regard to decontamination, the first mayor recalled that the land of the railroad belong to Adif, and even in the alternative that has been approved by the central government and the Autonomous Community, as the railway track is the only one that would be affected by the works of the AVE, should be its owner, in this case Adif, the one who will take care of the decontamination of the affected lands.
The same happens with the suppression of the viaduct of the A30, which is property of the Ministry of Development.
In any case, the project of environmental restoration of El Hondón and the railroad are perfectly compatible and in no case does the first cause delays in the execution of the second.
With the option proposed by the neighbors for the arrival of the AVE, when the railway line through El Hondón is eliminated, this debate would have no meaning.
