International and national artists, with works by the main capitals of the world, will transform the urban landscape of Cartagena with murals and graffiti.
The works are part of the program 'One Urban World', the urban culture section of the festival Much More May, dependent on the Department of Culture of the city of Cartagena.
International artists such as Ernesto Maranje (Miami), Fabio Petani (Turin) and the Yemeni Abdullah Mansoor Al Salehi, asylum seeker;
along with well-known Spanish muralists and graffiti artists such as Kraser and Sealtres, or young women like Clara Ledo, are part of this year's program of 'One Urban World', the urban culture section of the Mucho Más Mayo festival.
The well-known Cartagena artist, Kraser, has coordinated, once again, this program whose immense works are already visible in the streets of Cartagena, modifying the appearance of the city.
The murals and graffiti of this 'One Urban World' are added, in this way, to the dozens of large murals that the festival has left as a legacy of other editions, which are already an indelible sign of the contemporary urban imaginary of Cartagena.
One of the most outstanding locations will be the one of the invited district in this edition of the festival, Los Dolores.
In its streets you can find the 'Symbiotic Adaptation' (Ernesto Maranje, Miami).
This creation focuses its murals around the importance of nature on our planet, merging animals with plants to remember that we are all nature and we must respect it.
Another of the works exhibited in the Cartagena neighborhood will be 'Inhabitat' (Kraser, Cartagena / Milan).
Subdividing reality in an eclectic paradigm to complete all the parts that constitute an animate being, fragments aligned from the most obvious figurative to the nature of the animal itself.
On Juan de la Cosa Street, UPCT classroom, 'Ununoctio & Gossypium Tomentosum' (Fabio Petani, Turin) will emerge, generating an increasingly rich production in details to make organic life emerge.
Each element has a connection with the environment, the space or the context where the mural is made.
Also, '37 .599830, -0.980299 Landscape '(Sealtres, Orihuela), in the Navalmoral street supposes a volumetric abstraction of the space, the line as generator of landscape.
The work of Sealtres (Javi Agulló) occupies the public space always respecting the nature and the concrete place where it intervenes, seeking an improvement of the environment and creating a beam of light, color and contrast with which it tries to capture the viewer's attention.
The wall of Serreta Street will be a canvas of contrasts with 'Without walls' (Abdullah Alshalhi, Yemen).
The artist is threatened by his graphic activity in a Yemeni newspaper and does not know when he will be able to return to his country.
His work is very colorful and uses elements of the landscape and nature.
From next Thursday, you can also enjoy 'Gea.
Nature redivida '(Collective Mural Workshop), with the artist Clara Ledo as coordinator.
In the Plaza San Francisco, a mural work will be made, working on point # 15 of the Sustainable Development, Life and Earth Ecosystems Objectives, in which it will highlight the fact that both nature and women should be respected and valued, since from both arises the life that allows us to continue existing as a species.
The collective El Oso Ivy, formed by Clara Ledo and Sam Scasso intervene, with 'Projected symbiosis.
The Nature that shapes us', a mural and photographs taken of spectators, which will be screened later.
This cycle of urban art includes Urban Symbiosis, a practical graffiti workshop that will be held next Wednesday May 30 at the Intercultural Center of Los Dolores, with the coordination of the Department of Social Services.
Directed by Hamgeo, this workshop tries to find a point of real and mutual connection between the participatory parties, through color, the urban road, the interconnection of cultures and natural light.
