López and Giménez have exposed the positioning of their training with respect to the arrival of the AVE to Cartagena, detailing the proposal for a rapid and certain progress in this regard, as well as improvement in rail freight transport from the future ZAL of Los Camachos and the different docks of the port, without forgetting the optimization of the economic resource.

Amendment for the adaptation of Municipal Buildings

During the course of the meeting, the representatives of the MC have informed the businessmen of the amendments approved in the debate of the General Budget of the City Council for 2018, which took place last week.

Among the measures included in the budget, which must be approved definitively in a month, is the will of the training led by José López to promote the adaptation of various Municipal Buildings.

Among them, the ship of Contépolis, located in the industrial area of ​​Los Camachos, leading to its completion to enable the space as the headquarters of the Association of Employers, in addition to assign it as a warehouse for brigades and archaeological remains, which would save the current lease of the ship used in the Polígono Cabezo Beaza for this purpose.

The amendment, which also integrates the building located on Cuatro Santos Street, has a multi-year nature.

For 2018, an investment of 150,000 euros has been contemplated, while in 2019 it will be another 250,000 euros.

Promoting employment and proximity trade

Previously, MC representatives met with the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, Miguel Martínez, to inform him about the amendments that aim to create a Plan to boost local commerce and to promote job.

With the first measure, budgeted at 120,000 euros, the cartageneristas show their willingness to support retail trade in Cartagena, needed a boost to recover employment and businesses lost in recent years.

In its text, MC defended the suitability of this plan being articulated and channeled through the Municipal Council of Commerce, in collaboration with all associations in the sector.

Likewise, it proposes the creation of a service of tutoring and specific monitoring for entrepreneurs, minimizing the high failure rate of the first months.
