The Area of Quality of Life and Wellbeing of the City of Cartagena, directed by the councilor Obdulia Gómez, has published through public consultation the preliminary draft of the Municipal Ordinance on Environmental Protection against the Emission of Noise, whose beginning of the file was agreed by the Local Government Board on May 4.
Among its motivations is that Law 2/2017, of urgent measures for the reactivation of business and employment through liberalization and the removal of bureaucratic burdens, has introduced some modifications in terms of noise control produced by activities with sound reproduction equipment, being necessary to introduce the technical novelties that currently exist for the control of noise.
It also indicates the need to introduce some aspects not regulated in the current municipal ordinance, as well as modify others already regulated and adjust them under the current regulations, such as the Integrated Environmental Protection Law of the Region of Murcia, the Law of Noise, in relation to the valuation and management of environmental noise, and the royal decrees on acoustic zoning, quality objectives and acoustic emissions, and protection against noise in accordance with the Technical Building Code.
The new Environmental Protection Ordinance against the Emission of Noises and Vibrations, will try to comply with the community, state and regional regulations on protection against noise pollution and respond to new challenges that occur in the current reality of the municipality .
The public consultation will be made through the website of the City Council, specifically through its Notice Board, where it will be exposed for a period of one month, until next June 25, in order that citizens and organizations and associations whose legitimate interests may be affected by the rule carry out the considerations they deem appropriate.
