The Flamenco Week of Cartagena, organized by Peña Flamenca Antonio Piñana, with the collaboration and sponsorship of the City of Cartagena, the Ministry of Culture of the Region of Murcia, the Port Authority and other entities has created the space Classroom of Pearls in Millares to help spread and promote flamenco art.
La Cartagenera and the cantes levantino-mineros are offered in the Classroom, which is held at the ISEN University Center and will be taught by important flamenco masters, such as Manuel Bohórquez, José Martínez, José Francisco Ortega, Antonio "El Rampa" and Paco Paredes.
The course will deal with the history of flamenco in Cartagena, its cafés singers, its singers, the mines and the situation of the time and the styles or musical styles of their own and their presentations will be illustrated with fragments of cante and a recital by Antonio Ayala "El Rampa "
It will be held on June 7, 8 and 11 and will last 12 and a half hours.
The Classroom includes three workshops dedicated to the compás, two of them of palmas, in basic and medium levels and a third one "Cajón en familia".
Taught by Agustín Garnés, these workshops are intended for anyone who wants to start or advance in the knowledge of the flamenco compass and have a duration of one hour and a quarter, each one of them.
They will be held on June 9, at the Pikú café.
The Cajón en Familia workshop is taught by the expert Pepe Abellán and is considered as a basic and fun introduction of the whole family to the flamenco cajón.
The workshop for a maximum of thirty people facilitates a drawer for each of the participants and will take place on June 14 at 7:30 p.m.
In addition, a Masterclass by the famous bailaora La Truco has been programmed, where the girls nicknamed "Las Turroneras", who have been so successful on TV, are studying at their school in Madrid.
The Masterclass will be held at the Academy of Ana Zapata, on June 9 and will have two levels, initiation-medium and medium-advanced and another, for all participants of body technique, in which La Truco is a recognized expert .
All activities have limited places.
