A representative committee of ADIF and RENFE of the Region of Murcia and representatives of Workers Commissions have met today, May 23, with the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, to explain the situation that as workers are seeing in the commuter network and half a distance from Cartagena, as well as the lack of investment in railway networks and the aging of vehicles, something that directly interferes with the comfort of passengers.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Company Committee Renfe Operadora, Juan José Pérez;
the president of the ADIF Committee, José Miguel Celda;
and the secretary of the Renfe Operadora Committee, Francisco Martí.
The representatives of ADIF have indicated that on May 30 there will be a mobilization in Murcia, and have invited citizens to participate, as well as social representatives, municipalities and "all those who feel identified to ask what the Region of Murcia it deserves, "they added.
They have also indicated that with the mayor they have been talking specifically about the state of abandonment in which is the station FEVE and ADIF of Cartagena, and have stressed the need to reverse the situation.
The main needs that must be reversed and demanded from the Ministry of Public Works, according to this committee, is the change from the diesel railway to the electric one and to electrify the Region of Murcia, since that would mean replacing old trains with other more ecological, new and clean
