The women who made history in the Region of Murcia will be the protagonists of the XI Congress of the Association of Official Chroniclers of the Region of Murcia, which will be held in Cartagena on Saturday, June 2, at the National Museum of Underwater Archeology (ARQUA ).
To the meeting are invited the hundred of official chroniclers who develop their work in Murcia, but the entrance will be free also for the rest of the attendees.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, will attend the event;
who will be accompanied by the mayor of the area of ​​Culture, Youth and Education, David Martínez Noguera.
Also, at the meeting of the ARQUA, on June 2, will count on the attendance of the hundred of official chroniclers who carry out their work for the different municipalities of the Region.
The conference will begin at 9:30 am and will have free admission, in addition, attendees will be given a book that collects the stories of women whose lives and work will be exhibited at the congress.
The papers will highlight the work of some women who have been forgotten by history, but who have had relevance in their municipalities.
The first part of the congress will include the four papers by the chroniclers of Cartagena: Francisco José Franco, who will speak about Carmen Conde;
José Sánchez Conesa, who will make his presentation on Pilar Juárez;
Juan Ignacio Ferrández, who will pay homage to Amelia Portela;
and Luis Miguel Pérez Adán, who will speak about the life of Teresa Arrróniz y Boch.
The other part will make a memory of all the unknown women of the Region of Murcia, closing with a special section of the actresses, among which will be the figure of Cartagena Celia Escudero, who was one of the best silent film actresses.
The second paper will deal with aspects of the life of María Cegarra and other women writers of the Region of Murcia.
The exhibition will be by the chronicler Francisco Rodenas Ródenas, and the coordination will be borne by José Antonio Marín Mateos.
After the break, it will be the turn of the paper Biographies of Women, town by town, by the hand of the chronicler José Antonio Melgares Guerrero, and will coordinate Manuel Medina;
and finally, attendees will learn about Women and Film from the hand of Ricardo Montes, who will talk about Celia Escudero and Charo Baeza.
The coordination of the exhibition will be carried out by José Sánchez Conesa.
In the afternoon there will be the annual meeting of the chroniclers, in which, among other matters, the theme of the 2019 Congress in Ulea will be decided.
