The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, accompanied by the councilor of the Government Department of Sustainable Development, Security and Public Function, Francisco Aznar, and the head of Human Resources of the City of Cartagena, Emilia García López, delivered this afternoon the traditional plates of recognition for the services rendered to the 27 employees and public employees who have reached their retirement during the last 12 months.
In a simple and emotional ceremony that took place in the Hall of Ceremonies of the Town Hall, Ana Belén Castejón, she thanked them for their dedication and work developed for decades in the City of Cartagena and its autonomous organizations;
and has encouraged them to undertake with enthusiasm this new stage in their lives that will be their own "bosses" and will be able to do many of the things they always wanted, regardless of age.
The ceremony coincided with the festivity of Santa Rita, patron of municipal officials and he has assisted relatives, friends and colleagues of the honorees.
The years of service to the City of Cartagena that these recently retired people have borrowed range between 16 and 42.
After the act has taken place the usual family photo on the steps of the Palace Hall.
FRIDAY CLOSES THE TOWN HALL
The municipal staff will have their day of rest on Friday, May 25, in which all administrative offices of the City of Cartagena will remain closed.
The Personnel Board has organized a series of activities for the celebration of Santa Rita among which are guided tours, exhibitions, sports championships, poetry recitals, motorcycle routes and a dance dinner.

The calendar of activities is as follows:
Tuesday May 22: Mass in honor of the Patroness.
In the church of "Santo Domingo" at 7:00 pm.
Wednesday May 23: Poetry recital.
It will be at Mister Witt coffee at 8:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 24: Soccer Championship.
will be played in the "Gómez Meseguer" field between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Friday, May 25: Biker route.
Remained at 9:00 am at La Glorieta 470 (Plaza San Francisco), departure at 9:30 am to Bolnuevo and end of route at the Youth Center of Canteras (paella for participants).
There will be raffles, music ... until the body endures.
At night, Santa Rita Dance Dinner 2018. At La Cartuja at 9:30 p.m.
