The summer period brings, once again, the adapted summer municipal summer school, organized by the City of Cartagena, in collaboration with ICUE Cartagena.
The activities are adapted for people with sensory, physical or psychic problems and will take place in the municipality from June 25 to August 3.
To offer all the details of this V edition of the event, an appointment has been made with the media, the Councilor for Sports, Obdulia Gómez;
the president of the Adapted Sports Club (CDA) Icue, Isabel Carmona, and the president of the Board of Directors of the Santa Ana Club, José Moreno.
This initiative, which began in 2013, offers sports activities such as adapted multisport, music workshops, games and adapted swimming, among others.
The mayor of Sports and Quality of Life, Obdulia Gómez, pointed out that the objective of this program is to create a space "in which everyone can enjoy music, sports and leisure, which are fundamental aspects for personal development and which also makes it easier for parents to reconcile family and work. "
In addition, this school alleviates a social need, providing adapted educational and sports spaces in which it is committed to participation, accessibility and equal conditions, therefore, the activities are aimed at all people who are willing to participate, from children to adults, regardless of whether or not they have a disconnect.
This initiative "allows parents to register their children without discrimination and on an equal footing," said ICUE President Isabel Carmona.
The opening of the summer school will take place next Saturday, May 26, at the Santa Ana Sports Club, during the event the new facilities will be presented in which all the activities that form the backbone of the summer school program will be carried out. adapted municipal
The Icue Cartagena Adapted Sports Club is a non-profit leisure club, which started five years ago at the initiative of several families who bet on guaranteeing equality and accessibility for everyone to leisure and sports, as well as the elimination of barriers and prejudices "because disability is not incompatible with leisure or adapted sports, but these are tools for children to acquire social and relational skills and there is an increase in their empowerment," said the president of the Adapatado Icue Sports Club.
