The Polyphonic Choir Carthagonova, which has the collaboration of the City of Cartagena, has organized for this Saturday, May 26, an extraordinary concert with the collaboration of the Music Band of the Carthagonova Musical Union, which will be preceded by a mass sung for the choir in memory of the deceased members.
The Mass and the concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of Santa María.
In the first part of the concert, the Carthagonova Choir will be conducted by the four directors who, over the past 40 years, have formed or are part of its staff, such as José Espinosa, who was the founder and director between 1978 and 1997;
Ginés Cruz, who ran it from 2000 to 2004;
Luis Egío, director between 2010 and 2012;
and Pedro Andrés García, current director.
The Choir and the Band of Music of the Carthagonova Musical Union will star in the second part of the concert, directed by Jaime Belda.
The soloists will be two former members of the Carthagonova Choir, Lola Cayuela and Diego Pedro Plazas.
The extraordinary activities scheduled for the months of April and May will culminate on Sunday, June 3, with a meal of brotherhood among coralists who have passed through the institution during its 40 years of existence.
