Last Saturday, 24 museums were opened to the public, receiving a total of 58,190 visits, the Naval Museum and the Isaac Peral Room being the space that received the greatest number of visits, with a total of 8,053, followed by the Military Historical Museum of the Artillery Park with 7,329 visits, National Museum of Underwater Archeology - ARQUA that reached 6,226 visitors, the Roman Theater Museum with 5,450 visits and the MURAM and Aguirre Palace with 4,434 visits.
It is also worth noting the opening of the Glass Museum, which with its blowing exhibition attracted 2,050 visitors to the Santa Lucía neighborhood, and the set of museum spaces in the Port of Cultures with a total of 8,421 visits, especially the Roman Forum. with 2,463 people, followed by Refugio de la Guerra Civil Museum with a total of 2,288 visitors, Punic Wall with 1,702 views, Castillo de la Concepción with 998 visits and Panoramic Elevator with 970 visitors.
"The Night of the Museums has been, once again, an explosion of culture that has reached every corner of Cartagena with more than 200 activities.
Culture is a very important link between people and last Saturday it became clear again.
We are very proud of the figures that have been registered in the museums, as well as the atmosphere that was experienced in all the streets of the city, since this also affects the hospitality industry and the service sector ", said the Councilor for Youth, David Martínez Noguera.
Between the municipal spaces they emphasize the 5,482 visits to the Municipal Archaeological Museum, the more than 5.000 visits to the Municipal File, 1.624 to the Consistorial Palace, 1.500 to the Molina Palace, and the 2,800 visits of the exhibition of the Local Police of Cartagena in the building of San Miguel.
The UPCT opened the different spaces of its university campuses: MITI, CIM, Casa del Estudiante and Antigones, among others, attended by more than 2,411 visitors.
The Churches of Santa María de Gracia, Santo Domingo and the Basilica of Charity, also joined this festival of culture hosting exhibitions and samples of the heritage of the Marraja, California and Risen Brotherhoods.
Likewise, the Chapel of the Christ of Mercy opened its doors to this cultural night.
As every year, the guided routes were very well received.
In the 25 programmed routes 820 people signed up, a great success of participation as well as the 11 children's workshops programmed to participate in this festival of culture for children, who sold out their places.
Among all the outdoor activities and those that took place in museums and interpretation centers, last Saturday Cartagena welcomed more than 65,000 people.
The web portal www.nochemuseoscartagena.es has received a total of 12,395 visits, while the social networks of La Noche had a reach of more than 23,000 people.
