Today and tomorrow, the #QuieroCorredor movement, promoted by the Valencian Business Association, is located in the Héroes de Cavite plaza in Cartagena to inform, through various initiatives, about the Mediterranean Corridor project, a key infrastructure for the future of the economy and progress of the municipality and the Shire.
The president of MC Cartagena, Jesús Giménez, and the councilor of Cartagena's training at the City Council of Cartagena, Francisco Calderón, were interested this morning in the information that is offered from this information channel on the Mediterranean Corridor.
In this way, they have attended the exhibition held by the industrial engineer and railway technician of the Valencian Association of Businessmen, Francisco García, who has explained the technical problems related to the section that would connect Cartagena with the Corridor.
On this matter, Jesús Giménez said that "this morning, we have been informed of the important shortcomings that Cartagena has in terms of infrastructure, everyone agrees that it is urgent to connect Cartagena with this Mediterranean Corridor, but no one has proposed that the Corridor for Cartagena, which is where the port is, the tourist and industrial pole and the future of our Autonomous Community, like it more or like less ".
Later, he indicated that "we have been told that if the third lane and Benipa's baipas were built, everything would be in progress and that it is a simple work, but it is the same one that has not been done for six years and that still has no term, for an investment of less than ten million euros as recognized by the Ministry of Public Works ".
Giménez lamented that "we have lost six years since the Benipa's baipas were put on the table in 2012. It is also necessary to remember that, in 2015, the mayor José López offered the baipas as the solution for the arrival of the AVE and, Of course, for the integration of Cartagena in the Mediterranean Corridor, and so we continue in 2018, without progress ".
The Cartagena leader has concluded by stating that, with respect to the infrastructures required by the region of Cartagena, "political decisions and investments do not arrive and today they remain unannounced."
The Mediterranean Corridor is a trans-European high-speed rail network designed to link Europe from north to south, designed to improve the competitiveness of the Mediterranean economy, the boost of tourism and the economy, among other objectives.
