Among Strings and Metals, the Classical Music Contest for Young Performers of the Region of Murcia presents an unprecedented concert at the Night of the Museums where a tribute to the French composer Claude Debussy will be paid, as this year marks the centenary of his death.
The concert will take place at the Faculty of Business Sciences (former CIM) at 10pm.
For this recital, there will be the presence of former winners of the Entre Cuerdas y Metals contest, authentic virtuosos at the piano, who have continued their musical careers reaping numerous successes, and who during this evening will interpret the repertoire of this composer, where all the senses they will be alert, not just the auditory one.
The Concert will begin with the duo formed by Óscar Requena on piano and Laura Rodríguez violin, who will give way to the piano interpretation of two of the best known works of Debussy's piano repertoire, such as "Claro de Luna" and Arabesque Nº1 at the hands of the pianist Cristina Sánchez.
Then, the audience can enjoy the talent at the piano of the musician Arturo Abellán Sánchez.
The final highlight of the concert will be Andrea Zamora Gumbao, who will be in charge of closing this musical event.
ABOUT THE MUSICIANS WHO WILL ACT IN THE CONCERT
Óscar Requena Toulouse (piano) (I award III Edition 1999 Between Strings and Metals).
Born in Cartagena, he began his piano studies at the age of seven, at the Conservatory of the city.
He studied at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Murcia.
In this conservatory he achieved the title of senior professor in 2004 with outstanding.
He has completed numerous improvement courses with leading professors - Leonel Morales, Albert Atenelle, Emanuel Ferrer and Jesus Maria Gomez.
He currently combines his teaching activity as a piano teacher at the Professional Conservatory of Cartagena and gives concerts in Spain.
Laura Rodríguez Moreno (violin) She began her violin studies with Professor Unnur Palsdottir.
He obtained the first prize of the APAS violin of regional scope in 1991, being at the same time the concertmaster of the Youth Orchestra of the Region of Murcia (Aspiring Section) and, later he was member of the Orchestra of the Region, acting as soloist in various occasions.
He also toured Germany and the Netherlands.
He studied violin with professor Joaquín Palomares, and chamber music obtaining the highest grades in the Superior Conservatory of Murcia, performing with his Orchestra tours through Austria and Hungary.
Afterwards, he continued to study master's degree and advanced training with the prestigious violinist and professor Amayak Durgarian, component with Vladimir Spivakov of the famous group "Virtuosos de Moscú".
She is invited to act several times in Italy.
He has performed concerts throughout the Spanish geography.
Since 2009 he is a founding member of the "Bacarisse Trio", with which he has performed chamber works in several Spanish cities.
Currently, she is a violin teacher at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Cartagena.
Cristina Sánchez Gómez (1st Prize XV Edition 2012).
Born in Cartagena, she began her elementary musical studies at age 9, at the professional music conservatory in Cartagena.
At the age of 13 he began professional degree studies in the specialty of piano finishing this with honors.
At the age of 14 he won the Entre de Cuerdas y Metals contest in the piano specialty.
From 2011 to the present, he participates on numerous occasions as a pianist in the orchestra of the professional music conservatory of Cartagena, being a founding member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena (JOSCT).
And he combines his studies with those of the Workshop of the pianist Tamara Harutyunyán in Murcia.
He is currently studying at the same time in two different specialties PIANO AND CORAL DIRECTION at the UPPER Music Conservatory "M.Massotti Littel de Murcia.
Arturo Abellán Sánchez (1st Prize XIX edition 2016).
Born in Caravaca de la Cruz, he began his musical studies at the age of four, after listening to the melody of Mozart's Turkish March, making his first public performance at the House of Culture of Cehegín (Murcia) that same year.
He gave his first recital with 12 years.
At the age of 13, he made his debut as a soloist at the Real Casino de Murcia, accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of the "Leandro Martinez Romero" Conservatory of Caravaca de la Cruz, performing in different halls and auditoriums in the Region of Murcia.
Later he acted as soloist in different rooms, accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena - Murcia, directed by Andrés Pérez Bernabé.

With only 14 years old, he has offered a long list of concerts both in Spanish venues -such as the Palau de la Música in Valencia and Real Casino de Murcia- and in other countries such as Austria, Italy and Germany.
Andrea Zamora Gumbao (1st Prize XIV edition 2011).
Born in Catral (Alicante).
He began his piano studies at the age of four.
The following year, he enrolled in the Music School SUM "La Constancia" of Catral.
From 2004 to 2014, he expanded his musical studies.
Finalized the Professional Degree in the Authorized Professional Center "ANMAVI" of Murcia.
Subsequently, he received lessons from the Hungarian pianist Isaac István Székely.
He made his debut as a soloist at the age of 11 with the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia and, since then, he has performed as a soloist with different orchestras and chamber ensembles.
He has participated in various contests and contests obtaining several awards He has offered numerous recitals, both in Spain and abroad.
Currently, he is studying at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid.
