- Regarding the surplus of Hidrogea pending investment, Cs will propose an extraordinary call for the Water Monitoring Commission whose only point on the agenda is to clarify the question of the surplus
The Municipal Citizens Group reported today that it has received several complaints in the past few weeks about the poor condition of the wastewater and sludge pumping station (EBAR) in Isla Plana.
The lack of maintenance is evident;
the vessel containing the sewage is cracked and the boxes that close the upper part are shattered.
The stench around this area is "unbearable" and the neighbors are demanding an urgent solution to repair or replace this station and that it meets the minimum requirements of health and the environment.
The spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, recalled that the germ of this problem has to do with the monumental delay to update the agreement with the Regional Wastewater Treatment and Sanitation Entity (Esamur), "we remain aware that, under this agreement, this year almost 900,000 euros will be invested in more than a dozen projects, the problem is that none of these projects have seen anything for the Isla de Plana station, so we are going to ask the City Council include these works in this year's investment plans of Esamur. "
As the neighbors of the zone have warned, "any day, we can find ourselves with a breakdown that will cause the contents of the EBAR to be spilled on the beach".
The orange training has already alerted the City Council to this situation but is currently writing a requirement to urge the local government to review and include in the agreement with Esamur the project to repair or replace this year the Isla de Plana EBAR, " If we do not receive a response in the next few days, we will take this proposal to the next ordinary plenary session, "said the orange spokesman.
Hydrogea surplus
On the other hand, Citizens in Cartagena has ensured that once achieved the reduction in the receipt of water, it is essential to clarify what happens with the surplus money of the concessionaire between 2011 and 2017 and unblock the blockade of millionaire investments to improve the network of supply, sanitation and rainwater collection throughout the municipality.
The orange training calculates that there are between 3.5 and 4 million euros, charged to the surplus, pending that they can be invested.
"This issue continues today without specifying, not even prepared the liquidations of some of those years, and from Cs we believe it is urgent, so we are going to propose an extraordinary convocation of the Water Monitoring Commission whose only point in the order of the day is to clarify the question of the surplus. "
The local spokesman of Cs has explained that there are executions that can not wait longer as the improvements in the EBAR of the Plaza de España, "which requires expanding its capacity to substantially reduce discharges in La Algameca when there is a breakdown or heavy rains arrive "
The company's own technicians listed some of the most urgent tasks, "in addition to the necessary renovation of obsolete networks, it is necessary a storm tank in the Mandarache area to reduce the risk of flooding, start underground drilling for the drafting of the storm interceptor project on Salamanca Street, or provide sanitation services to Perín, Galifa and Los Beatos ".
"In addition, we can not forget the generation of employment that occurs with the execution of these works that are covered mostly with professionals from Cartagena," said Padin.
The spokesman for Citizens stressed that "it is important the execution of these works, but also the inspection to the millimeter of the process that is chosen for its bidding so that all the criteria of transparency, publicity and justice that we can demand, either aa through the company or the City Council itself ".
