The Josefina Soria Library, of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, hosts today Thursday, May 10, the presentation of the book 'Antonio Barceló Ballester in the Wall of the Sea', by the author Antonio Leyva.
The event will be presented by the director of the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena, Fulgencia Plazas, who will introduce the author Antonio Leyva.
Leyva, poet and essayist, intertwines in his book the biography of the painter with a selection of his pictorial work as a catalog.
Antonio Leyva is a member of the Spanish and International Associations of Art Critics and the College of Writers of Spain.
As a poet he has nine books published, and two coming soon.
As a scholar of the life and work of several painters has published, among others, monographs on Lorenzo Mena, Antonia Payero and Antonio Guillamón.
Also by the sculptors Elvira Gutiérrez, Javier Aleixandre and Pilar de la Vega.
He founded and directed the art magazine Crónica 3 and he belonged to the writing teams of the Contemporary Artists of Madrid and Spanish Painters and Sculptors of the Twentieth Century dictionaries.
