The local government has reached an agreement with the Popular Party and Citizens that will allow imminent application of the surplus for the year 2017, amounting to 12,561,272.50 euros, of which 4,707,261.90 euros are going to allocate to the early repayment of loans, 5,354,010.60 to pay invoices to suppliers and 2.5 million for financially sustainable investments.
From the first moment the local government, as agreed a few weeks ago with Citizens, wanted to ensure that part of the financially sustainable investments were allocated to three works in high demand by the residents of the municipality, namely the La Palma soccer field, the cover of the pool of La Aljorra and the continuation of the Vía Verde in Barrio Peral.
In addition, the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, committed to the Federation of Neighborhood Associations (FAVCAC) to implement a plan to improve urban bus shelters, as well as investments in neighborhoods and county councils, especially in matters of lighting, asphalting and improvement of squares and public parks.
On the other hand, the agreement also allows fulfilling one of the fundamental objectives of this government team that is none other than to improve the state of the infrastructures located on the Mar Menor coast, so 340,000 euros will be allocated to the riverine populations .
In the same way, investments have been guaranteed in neighborhoods that were left out of the projects approved in the 2017 Participatory Budgets, such as the Barriada de Villalba, Virgen de la Caridad, Barrio de la Concepción, San Ginés, Torreciega or San Antón.
Likewise, in order to comply with the agreement of the Government with Citizens, the commitment to maintain the 2018 Budget for the rehabilitation of Calle de las Beatas and the construction of a parking deterrent adjacent to the Hospital of Santa Lucía has been achieved. , infrastructure also very demanded by the FAVCAC.
MUNICIPAL BUDGET
In any case, from the Government team have recalled that negotiations to reach an agreement that allows the approval of the 2018 budgets are still open.
Councilmen Carmen Martín del Amor and Juan Pedro Torralba continue to negotiate a pact in budgetary matters with all political groups, as they have done with the surplus.
The aim of the Mayor's Office is to collect initiatives from each and every one of the opposition groups, with no other limitation than respect for the investments included in the Participatory Budgets and the increase for Social Services, as the mayor has stated. on repeated occasions.
