These new documents will be the base of a campaign of diffusion among the schools of the Region, with the purpose that the students know the museum and can be translated in more visits
The Museum of Glass of Cartagena already has an informative and informative pamphlet, prepared by the Community in collaboration with the Association of Glass Artisans of Saint Lucia.
In total, 5,000 leaflets have been printed, of which 4,000 offer information in Spanish and a thousand in English, in order to detail the characteristics and history of the museum to tourists and visitors of the port city.
The Ministry of Employment, Universities, Enterprise and Environment, through the General Directorate of Commerce, Consumption and Administrative Simplification, has been responsible for the realization of these documents, which show the history of glass in Cartagena, the forms of make it and the tourist and cultural possibilities that this space offers.
The general director of Commerce, Consumption and Administrative Simplification, Francisco Abril, visited the museum today, which was launched in 2011 as a showroom and training center.
During the visit, a glass blowing demonstration was held for the 26 primary students of the Nuestra Señora del Mar School in the Santa Lucia neighborhood of Cartagena.
These new brochures will be the basis of an upcoming campaign of dissemination among schools in the Region of Murcia, in order that schoolchildren and their teachers know the museum, and that this may result in more organized visits.
April stressed that "these brochures collect with great detail the traditional glass production in Cartagena and the most important aspects of the museum, with a view to an ultimate goal: to enhance the tourist attraction of this space and multiply visits."
Visit to the Handicraft Center of Cartagena
Francisco Abril also visited the Regional Crafts Center of Cartagena, which hosts the exhibition 'The echo of the pitcher and the fountain' of the Murcian master craftswoman Ginesa Albadalejo.
The exhibition shows different sculptures made from terracotta and related to water, mainly amphoras and fountains.
This exhibition can be visited at the Regional Craft Center of Cartagena during the months of May and June, at the Regional Center of Crafts of Murcia during July and August and at the Regional Center of Handicrafts of Lorca during the months of September and October.
