The MC Cartagena municipal group, through its spokesman, José López, has sent a letter to Francisco Fernández, Ombudsman, to convey to this body his complaint and disagreement about the situation, within the City Council, in which the councilors and workers of the cartagenerista formation at the time of carrying out its work of control and control of the Government.
In this sense, Lopez has considered that the current Socialist Executive "tries to hinder this task, taking arbitrary and discretionary decisions, leaving relegated this work team that represents about fifteen thousand citizens of Cartagena."
Similarly, he recalled that the municipal MC Group consists of a total of ten members, five elected councilors and five workers with advisory and communication tasks.
Lack of minimum space
In this regard, the spokesman of MC has ensured that "our work is not developed optimally because we lack the minimum space required by law, in addition to not having a meeting area where you can carry out the fundamental task of care to the citizen ".
This circumstance is aggravated by the fact of having more councilors and staff than other groups of the City Council, but with less physical space.
"This comparative grievance was brought to the attention of the Mayor's Office by means of a letter addressed to the mayor, registered on January 12, 2018, and to which we did not receive a response, obviating this request," José López recalled.
Thus, before this silence for response, the Municipal Group MC raised questions to the Plenary on this matter, achieving in this case a negative response without going to discuss aspects of breach of rights, "acting in an authoritarian and despotic manner, exerting an abuse of improper power of a public representative, "López has sentenced.
Competent body to know and resolve on this matter
On the other hand, the MC councilor and spokesperson has noted that the letter has been addressed to the Ombudsman "as this institution is competent to hear and resolve on this matter."
For this, the training has provided different legal foundations such as articles 23.1 and 40.2 of the Spanish Constitution or Royal Decree 486/1997 of 14 April.
For all these reasons, the MC Municipal Group trusts that each one of the aspects exposed in the complaint will be taken into consideration in order that they may be studied by this Organization, dictating the resolution that best proceeds to urge the Government, and specifically to his Mayor, to restore legality and rectify their actions.
