Cartagena have learned how students of the Campus of Los Dolores learn to draw blood in portable arms, know the details of the brain, the human musculature, the digestive and respiratory system.
In addition, hundreds of people have been tested blood pressure, oxygen in blood, ... and have seen the evolution of the clothing of nursing professionals in recent decades.
Throughout this morning, those who passed through the Plaza del Icue have enjoyed the history of nursing through the sample of 13 costumes that recreated those used by health professionals in this area at different times, but have also been able to touch the recreations of legs, arms, brains, hearts, ... used by the students of the Degree in Nursing of the UCAM in the Campus of Los Dolores.
And it has been precisely students of this degree who have explained to citizens, with specific dummies of both adults and children, how cardiopulmonary resuscitation is performed, how to learn how to draw blood, how to measure blood pressure, how oxygen is measured in blood, ... among other curiosities for which citizens have asked future health experts.
People of all ages have come to celebrate the Week of the International Day of Nursing that the Catholic University has organized this year, which will graduate its first class of nurses who have studied in their facilities in Cartagena.
During the day, the students themselves have encouraged those interested to know the modern facilities offered by the UCAM in Cartagena to study this degree, highlighting the personalized treatment of teachers, their closeness and qualification.
In addition, on the occasion of this commemoration the Catholic University will offer tomorrow at 12:30 a.m. in its facilities in Cartagena a talk about the role of nursing in blood donation, in which students will be encouraged to do internships at the Center Regional Hemodonation.
On Thursday morning, anyone who wishes may donate blood on campus.
And until Monday it will be possible to continue visiting in the Assembly Hall of the facilities of the UCAM in Cartagena the exhibition of historical costumes, which has the collaboration of Iberia Vitae Cleanings and Services.
Similarly, the Plaza de San Antonio of the headquarters of the UCAM in Cartagena will host on the morning of the 14th a sample of emergency vehicles of the Red Cross Regional Assembly, to explain to the university students its operation and encourage them to collaborate as volunteers in this institution.
