The Municipal Citizens Group today urged the Government of Cartagena to answer in writing all the questions pending response, some were registered in February and March, the rest are those that could not be formulated in the last ordinary plenary session when the mayor decided to suspend the session after the shouts and the new exit of tone of the councilman of MC, José López, last April 26.
The spokesperson for the orange training in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, has highlighted the question regarding pollution in the dump of El Gorguel, "that question was recorded in March and was not answered in the ordinary plenary of that month, they assured us that they would answer us in writing but it has not been like that ".
"If we do not receive an answer in the next two days, we will be obliged to request protection from the Transparency Council of the Region of Murcia," the spokesperson for Cs has warned.
Citizens has recalled that it is to obtain explanations for a "very serious" facts published by the newspaper La Verdad that ensured that the City of Cartagena did not react or alert anyone to a report of the UPCT that alerted in detail about the high risk of contamination in the landfill of El Gorguel.
"Although we know that the direct responsibility in this case is held by those who occupied then the local Executive, the MC party, it is the current local government (PSOE) that has to offer the necessary explanations, learn from what happened, and establish the protocols necessary so that something like that can not happen again in this municipality. "
Cs recalled that the competencies in waste management and the requirement of compliance with the regulations is municipal, as well as the necessary investments to improve the system and to comply with European regulations and the regional plan.
In any case, today known part of the content of this report of the UPCT, the Municipal Citizens Group will move the problem to the Regional Assembly to seek formulas of collaboration with the City of Cartagena to curb this risk and start working to have a landfill in conditions, "This is the path we must travel if we want to continue being a responsible and constructive party from the opposition."
An unanswered question from February
In the plenary session of February 12, Ciudadanos filed a motion requesting the local Executive, among other things, to declare the amount of "Cost per inhabitant in euros" of the collection, transport and storage or disposal of garbage, urban solid waste and debris in the year 2016 and publicly report with charge to what is covered by the presumed deficit (if the cost is adjusted to the obligations it recognizes) of 96 euros per inhabitant that show the figures of the Ministry of Finance and Public Function .
The motion was approved unanimously.
In the debate prior to the vote, the councilor in charge, Juan Pedro Torralba, acknowledged that he did not know what it was and why the effective cost had not been published by the City Council, as required by law.
Nor was the question answered in March by the councilor of the Treasury area, Carmen del Amor, who responded by stating that they were waiting for the concessionaire to provide certain documentation, and that a computer application was to be purchased to facilitate this calculation.
"It has been a month and a half since we asked a simple question:" What is the effective cost per inhabitant of the service of collection, transport and storage or disposal of garbage ?, and as in the question of the landfill of El Gorguel, we are willing to denounce this situation to the Council of Transparency, "said the spokesman for Citizens.
Questions pending response at the April Plenary
School nursery
The orange training has reported that in the plenary session of September 8, 2016, an initiative was approved unanimously to provide school nursery schools for children in the municipality.
"However, it has been more than a year and a half, and the local government seems to have ignored this plenary agreement, despite the fact that in 2017 they argued to questions from the opposition that were preparing a job board."
Citizens are waiting to know if the local executive has already made the job pool that was being developed last year and why the plenary agreement has been ignored.

At the end of last January, Cs sent a letter to the Department of Quality of Life and Welfare, informing of the unfortunate state of the area between the streets Ebano and Antonio Serrano de La Palma, attaching photographs of the place and the unhealthy focus that constitutes, a few meters from a playground.
According to the spokesperson for Citizens, "in our letter we asked the responsible councilor to urge the owners to clean the area within a week, or to carry out these tasks, by the Government we were quickly responded that it had been sent the order to start a cleaning file, but more than two months have passed and we have returned to visit the area only to verify that the situation has not changed, or is even worse. "
