The 'Gala of Dance' by La Resi of ASTUS will be held this year on Friday, May 18, at the Municipal Auditorium of 'El Batel'.
The Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities (ASTUS) will use the donations, obtained from the tickets, to the project of the integral complex for the elderly, or in the process of aging, with intellectual disability and / or cerebral palsy, known as La Resi.
To present this solidarity event has counted, this Wednesday, May 2, with the presence of the Councilor for Culture, Education and Youth, David Martinez, the president of ASTUS, Joaquín Barberá, the director of Robles Ballet School, José Antonio Robles and also with Cristina, one of the ASTUS dancers.
The mayor, David Martínez, has been very happy to know the work that is done in the association ASTUS.
Likewise, he expressed his satisfaction that the opening of La Resi can be carried out shortly, since the first phase of the project is completed.
Martinez has been proud that this gala can be held, thanks to the organization of Robles Ballet School and the dance academies of Cartagena: Núria Mas, Carmen Baños and Margarita Amante.
"It is important that on the same stage students of dance academies and students of the dance group of the ASTUS Day Center and the SOI Foundation (Inclusive Leisure Service) are seen," said Martínez.
The gala will feature 30 students from ASTUS and 10 from SOI.

For its part, one of the directors of Robles Ballet School, José Antonio Robles, organizers for the second consecutive year the event, explained that, with this gala they want their students to be aware that doing what they like most can be supportive.
He also wanted to highlight how important it is for students to share spaces and carry out the inclusion, through dance, of people with other abilities "share the stage, dressing room, and nerves," said Robles.
The president of ASTUS, Joaquín Barberá, explained that, thanks to sporting events and charity galas, such as the dance gala, the first phase of La Resi, which covered the interior of the building and hopes to be able to inaugurate this month of May.
Now it is time to raise funds to get the equipment of the outside area of ​​La Resi, with a adapted biosaludable circuit, a rest area and a recreational area so that the users, together with their families, favor the relationship and coexistence.
The outer space that remains to be conditioned is about 4,000 square meters.
WHAT IS THE RESI?
The Resi is created for ASTUS users who have been aging and need special attention.
The Resi will have a day center, with capacity for 70 people, and two housing assistance modules, with 25 places each.
In this center programs will be developed adapting to the rhythm of work of each age and characteristics of the elderly.
The 'Dance Gala' by La Resi of ASTUS will be held in the Municipal Auditorium of 'El Batel' on Friday, May 18, at 8:00 p.m.
