This weekend Cartagena has lived immersed in dance to celebrate the International Day of Dance.
On Saturday, April 28, the Professionals Gala of Cartagena will take place in the Town Hall Square, giving continuity to the activities programmed by the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena, under the coordination Margarita Amante, director of the Dance and Movement Studio .
The mayor of Culture, Youth, and Education, David Martinez, attended some of the activities of this celebration.
Also, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento that same Saturday and in two days and on Sunday morning session, a dance marathon was held, with more than 80 dances of all modalities: Latin, flamenco, classical, contemporary and dance Eastern, among others, and counted with the participation of a hundred students and professionals of the discipline.
On Sunday, the date on which the International Dance Day is commemorated, the words of the Batsheva Dance Company artistic director, the Israeli Ohad Naharin, sounded across Europe, "dance can be sublime, even if it is far from perfect.
We have to resist the conservative and conventional thinking that has its roots in much of education and dance training, and put aside old ideas to get new and better ideas.
And we should always remember to dance a little every day ... And we should always remember to dance every day ... and never in front of a mirror ".
