The Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, has put out for tender design of MR-F35 road, which runs between the towns of Cartagena and San Javier, which will enable improved access to industrial estate Beaza Cabezo Cartagena and Mediterrņaneo Mall, for a total of 2,674,839 euros.
As explained by the general director, Jose Guijarro, it is an action aimed at improving road safety and reduce accidents in an area with a high intensity of heavy traffic, which presents more than two million trips a year.
The works will take place on the stretch of road that runs along the industrial estate, between Torreciega and The Asomada, over 1.8 kilometers, which will carry out the construction of three roundabouts, 50, 60, and 65 meters outside diameter, to replace T-intersections at the entrance to an industrial park Cabezo Beaza and another at the intersection with the municipal road in the village of San Felix.
Also proceed with the construction of two service roads, sidewalks and bike lanes from Tower Blind to the first entry of the Industrial as well as for installation of lighting, runway lighting and signage.
The City of Cartagena, which assists in the preparation of this work has been commissioned to manage the acquisition of land adjacent to the road and will be used for the construction of roundabouts.
The layout of this section has been claimed by both employers and employees of the circle as users of the shopping center and among its objectives is to give greater confidence and fluency in peak hours, which are making huge queues and retention in these points.
The implementation period is 10 months, starting from their award.
