The project to restore the Roman Theatre chooses to get the Grand Prize at this year's European Price for Cultural Heritage.
Europa Nostra Awards, whose results are made public next Thursday 10 June in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
ElTeatro Romano was a finalist before winning in the category of rehabilitation, restoration and conservation of European cultural heritage, along with 15 more winners, among whom were the Real Sitio de San Ildefonso (Segovia) and the Church of the Nuns in à ‰ CIJL within Spain.
Of the 16 finalists in this category, on Thursday will be chosen the winner of the Grand Prix.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize the most outstanding initiatives in the field of European cultural heritage in categories ranging from the restoration of buildings and their adaptation to new uses, to the rehabilitation of urban and rural landscapes, through interpretations archaeological sites and conservation of art collections.
