In relation to the various statements that has been making an issue related to prostitution in an area of Cartagena, the Delegation of the Government wants to settle the false debate of powers established by those who seem more interested in avoiding their responsibilities to meet their obligations and resolve the problem by following points:
1 .- The voluntary exercise of prostitution is not a crime.
2 .- The problems and disadvantages that can lead to street prostitution should therefore be tackled from the perspective of city government, the local coexistence, peace, tranquility and calm of the citizens, and all It comes as the Basic Law of Local Government called "public safety."
That is, municipal competition.
3 .- These powers to security forces municipalities to issue these rules, edicts or ordinances intended to regulate the exercise of that activity so that, together with the protection of the rights of its practitioners, is also preserve the right of citizens to freely enjoy a safe public space and peaceful coexistence.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Delegation of the Government reaffirms its willingness to cooperate with the City to address the issue in the Local Security Board, the invitation is for the mayor of the city.
