The excellent results obtained by the Foundation Uncle live in the five years they have been working for the rehabilitation of disabled persons through assisted therapy with horses and other animals, has led the council to continue to support this project with the signing this morning of a bi-annual convention collaboration worth $ 3,000 a year, signs that have been present Deputy Mayor, Agustín Guillén, President of the Foundation, Luis Cuenca, and the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon.
For Guillén, although the amount may seem symbolic, we do not resign, despite the crisis, to help a project that is giving good results in promoting and improving the quality of life of disabled people, mostly children with Down syndrome through horse therapy.
Tío Vivo Foundation is a nonprofit entity, a pioneer in the region in implementation of therapy with horses for the social integration of disabled people, with benefits observed in the case of autistic children or people with personality disorder and From its inception, has received funding from the City.
The work of twenty volunteer professionals who are part of the foundation (psychologists, physiotherapists, nurses) have benefited over 200 children in the region, with around 2,700 individual sessions of therapy (treatment for one child may continue to 4 years), as well as recreational activities in groups of ten children.
According to Foundation president, Luis Cuenca, the benefits are at all levels, physical and emotional tano, and suddenly we work only with horses but have left the door open for those professionals who wish to join our project offering therapies with other animals , as is the case of dogs or cats.
