Between January and June 4 will be held at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena an International Business-University, organized by the post-harvest and Refrigeration Group and the Institute of Plant Biotechnology UPCT dedicated to discuss the challenges and solutions technology in logistics and refrigerated transportation of fruits, vegetables and ornamentals.
The meeting includes the holding of two international seminars focused on a refrigerated transport by sea, to be held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Chancellor and will be opened by the Director General of the Autonomous Port, and one on the ground and air transportation for the day on Thursday in the Auditorium of the Agricultural ETSI.
They intervene staff from several centers and national and Latin American Universities, the UPCT and technical experts from companies and industry associations.
Technical visits are planned at various facilities of the Port of Cartagena, a Central Produce and logistics platform.
The meeting also attended by members of the Red Frutura, a project supported by the Ibero-American Science and Technology for Development (CYTED), dedicated to improving the quality and safety of fruits with new inspection and monitoring technologies.
The network consists of 25 research groups from universities and nine companies in seven countries.
Finally, on Friday, June 4, at 8:30 am Business Forum will take place on "Challenges and opportunities in hortofrutícula trade between Spain and Latin America" at the Faculty of Sciences of the Company, located in the old CIM.
The same will cover topics related to business and technology business experience of different species such as citrus, stone fruits, table grapes, melons, tropical fruits and ornamental products.
It will involve leading companies engaged in production, export and marketing of these products.
The presentation ceremony of the Forum is scheduled to attend the Territorial Director of Trade and Deputy Foreign Trade Institute (ICEX) in the Region of Murcia, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Cartagena and the president of the Confederation of Organizations of Cartagena (COEC).
