On Thursday, May 27, will be held at the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy the Gala Awards Sport XXX Cartagena.

The event, which shall be chaired by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, will bring together the great family of Sports Cartagenero to honor the top players of 2009.

For the first time the development of the gala, taking place from nine o'clock in the night at the Cultural Center Luzzy Ramón Alonso, will be broadcast live over the Internet through a link on the homepage of the City of Cartagena.

The honorees are: Hector Yuste Canton (Best Male Athlete), Francisco Hernández Muñoz of thecompany Proherso SL (Best Sponsor) Futbol Club Cartagena (National Category Best Club), the Elcano Athletics Club (Best Club Base category) VI International Congress on Football and Basketball V Iberian Congress (Best Sports Events), Santiago Rodríguez Sanz (Best Male Athlete Revelation) Vergara Paula Thomas (Best Female Athlete Revelation), the CEIP Beethoven (Best Teaching Center) School Salvador Rosillo Basketball Basketball Club Cartagena (Fair Play) and The Neighborhood Association Barreros Petanque Club (Best Neighborhood Association).

This is the second consecutive year that the Department of Sports takes the form of institutional act, instead of the usual dinner, in order to adapt to new economic circumstances and lower costs.
