In just five years, the May Festival Much More Talented Youth, organized by the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena, has achieved wide public acceptance, a major projection and s recognition of the artistic community.

Mucho Mas Mayo has confirmed its unique formula where the surprises in the street, the acts of small format, the role of the neighborhood as a stage for cultural activities, the importance of training and diversity of creative languages are combined and complemented by activities great popular participation as the Night of Museums, concerts or theatrical extravaganzas, to provide special intensity to the pulse of the city.

Although the figures speak for themselves (123 activities in 14 days, 602 artists from eight countries participating, an absolute record in all participants in The Night of the Museums with more than 26,000 tickets to museums in five hours, thousands of attendees at events such as More Than Music Art Hotel or the closing ceremony), the most successful is to have achieved an interested audience for each proposal, regardless of their nature and location.

The success is even greater taking into account the restrictions this year has forced budget cuts (20%).

Special mention may be made in different sections of the festival, and consider well-established as Short Week kicks (which received nearly 300 short of its call) Art Hotel, opened this year for the first time the participation of galleries outside the region, the festival One urban culture Urban World, whose extraordinary graffiti on the walls remain as a reminder of this year, the youthful vitality that has made the Festival of Students in this second edition, or the interesting workshops which once again have been filled of participants involved.

Special interests also must emphasize the production of Cortils diseñadoraAna installation (which can be accessed at the Pavilion of autopsies until 20 June) and the selected projects to students in the Faculty of Fine Arts as a guest school.

The international dimension, which has been outstanding this year, is well exemplified in the quality and interest of the collective work of artists-KUNSrePUBLIK German-and Swedish musicians and actresses deRäfven Zoo.

Finally, we must call attention to the extraordinary participation of the residents of Barrio de la Concepción, the place chosen to host complementary events of the festival, which has overwhelmed any calculation.
