The Councillor for Sustainable Development, Isaiah Camarzana, chaired Thursday's meeting of the Civic Committee and the Bicycle Pedestrian, organ involvement, debate, consensus and consultation that has been created to support the municipal policies of pedestrian and bicycle mobility in the city of Cartagena, which is being consolidated in the face of the organization of actions related to that objective.
Among other issues, the commission approved expanding the mobility with the addition of RENFE, LVEF and the Association BICU also moving forward in drafting the regulations for the operation, they expect to be closed for the next meeting to be held in June, while expected that from now on, the committee meets every two months, as noted Camarzana.
In addition, during the meeting made progress in organizing the Regional Conference on Mobility to be held in Cartagena in September with the participation of municipalities and institutions throughout the region.
This conference, to be held in the Auditorium of the UNED, will be developed by experts in four blocks, such as bicycle infrastructure, auto loan, Bicycle Mobility Policy and Road Safety, with technical presentations and workshops, was recorded in the real possibilities of the bicycle as alternative transportation in the city and some proposals to promote and strengthen this system of mobility.
The Civic Committee of the Pedestrian and Bicycle Association is composed Vía Libre, ONCE, AMFUCC Disabled Association, the Federation of Neighborhood Associations, Local Police, ALSA CITY, the Department of Infrastructure and Transportation and the Department of Sustainable Development.
