On Friday 7 May will take place the end of the XIII edition of Between Strings and Metals with the awards to the winners of the contest, an event to be held in elParaninfo of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, from 20:00 hours, with a concert by the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena.
One more year, and there are now thirteen, the competition between strings and brass, the only competition for young classical musicians to be held in the region, reaching the finish line giving the winners the opportunity to perform with an orchestra concert professional and give a boost to his career.
The closing ceremony will begin with the interpretation of one of the winners of the previous edition, the soloist Alejandro Zamora Gumbao, which will play a work of Villalobos accompanied by the Cartagena Chamber Orchestra by director Brian George Webber.
Then proceed to the awards ceremony, where the expected decision of the judges put the locking clip for the winners of the arrangements of guitar, strings, percussion, woodwinds, brass and piano.
In total 14 awards were distributed, reaching the amount de7.000 euros, with the ability to play well - each of the top prizes - in a series of concerts with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena.
The closing ceremony will end with the Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena, which is currently led by Andrés Pérez Barnabas.
Between strings and brass is organized by the Youth Council and the Conservatory of Music in order to distinguish the most promising young performers in the region.
