Bernabé announces a device of 300 National Police and Civil Guard agents to guarantee security during the Holy Week in Cartagena (13/03/2018)

The Government delegate, Francisco Bernabé, has chaired this morning the Local Security Board of Cartagena to organize the operation of Holy Week, which has announced a device of 190 National Police officers and 110 Civil Guard to ensure, in coordination with the National Police, security during the processions of Holy Week.

The staff assigned to the detachments of Cartagena will be reinforced with regional agents from both the National Police and Civil Guard to ensure that these days "are of joy and enjoyment for visitors and citizens of the city and the region of Cartagena," he said.

Bernabé took the opportunity to remember that Spain continues at level 4 of the anti-terrorist alert, for which it has asked for understanding and patience to the citizens "because there are certain security measures that by adopting them can cause inconveniences", he indicated.

Other security measures that are activated.

Parallel to the Holy Week Security Operation, the delegate reported the activation by the National Police of the Secure Trade and Secure Tourism Plans coinciding with the days of greatest influx of tourists. With the activation of both plans, acts preventively for tourists and citizens can make purchases with greater tranquility and enjoy the port city with the highest degree of security.
