The mines of La Union and the art of flying will inspire the III Literary Fair of San Gines de la Jara (11/01/2018)

The Brotherhood of San Ginés de la Jara has presented during the morning of January 11 the III Literary Fair and the First Photo Contest of San Ginés, whose deadline for submission will be open from today, January 11, to March 11.

The literary contest consists of two modalities, one of poetry and the other of narrative, while in the contest of photographs there is only one modality.

This contest, which began in 1969 when the Association of Friends of the Wind Mills of Campo de Cartagena developed the I Literary Fair in honor of San Ginés de la Jara and recovered last year 2016, has been organized by the Guild of San Ginés de la Jara, the San Ginés de la Jara Cultural Association and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena and other institutions and associations in the region.

The Councilor for Education, Culture and Youth, David Martínez Noguera, said that literature is a wonderful way of expressing ourselves, communicating and relating to each other and has invited Cartagena to present themselves and write, while underlining that in Cartagena "we have great writers and writers. "

The theme of the works will be free, although the Brotherhood of the Brotherhood, Víctor Javier Navarro, has specified that those who in the case of the poetry modality will treat on "The Flight", "The Union and its mines" will be positively evaluated. , "Cartagena" and "San Ginés de la Jara";

in the case of the story with "The Art of Flying", "The Mine and the Miners" and "San Ginés de la Jara";

and in the case of the photograph on "San Ginés de la Jara", "The flight" or "The airplanes".

The decision that one of the themes of the competitions be seen on the flight, the art of flying or airplanes has been taken because this year is the 75th Anniversary of the General Air Academy.

The Lieutenant Colonel of the AGA, Pedro A. Belmonte has shown his gratitude to the brotherhood and has said that he hopes that the academy will serve as an inspiration to poets, writers and photographers.

In the case of the modalities of poetry and story there will be three awards, while in the mode of photography there will be two.

The winners of the Literary Fair and the Photography Contest will receive prizes in cash, in addition to stays in an apartment in the Manga del Mar Menor, lots of products from the nearest gastronomy, a dental check-up or a physiotherapy session.

The anecdote of the morning has led the mayor of La Union, Pedro Lopez, who has been present because the Literary Fair of 1971 were held in their town.

The brotherhood has taken advantage of the presentation to name him as "maintainer" of the III Literary Fair, which is an ancient figure similar to that of the town crier who presented and gave beginning to the contest.

Víctor Javier Navarro has taken advantage of the appointment to announce that today is the birthday of Pedro López, so those present have sung happy birthday in unison, to what the mayor of La Union has been very excited.
