Citizens demand that a municipal plot in Miranda be used for sports and leisure purposes (07/12/2017)

- The plenary agreement promoted by the orange training dates from April 2016, and despite the fact that the Infrastructure area announced that it would have the final project in February 2017, almost a year later it has not even been brought to the recruitment table

- "To get something done in this City Council we have to go through an authentic legislative viacrucis", lamented the spokesman of Cs, Manuel Padín

Cartagena, Thursday, December 7.

The Municipal Group of Citizens today denounced the inability of the Government to meet another of the most demanded neighborhood demands, in this case the adaptation of a municipal property plot in Miranda, located next to the CEIP Santiago Apóstol, to allocate it to the construction of equipment and sports services, as well as for leisure and recreational uses, especially for the festive activities scheduled during the summer months.

To remedy this situation, Ciudadanos will again take a motion to the Plenary to demand that the pending procedures be resolved and the agreement promoted by the orange training be executed once.

"To get something done in this City Council we have to go through an authentic legislative process," lamented Cs spokesman Manuel Padín, who explained the long history of initiatives with this issue: "Citizens presented at the Plenary March 2016 a motion in which he asked the government team to give a response to the residents of Miranda and set up a municipal plot for leisure and recreation, the proposal was rejected as it was explained that the City Council had the property but not the Possession that was of the promoter, in April of 2016 it was registered again with corrections and it was approved unanimously, in addition, it was also presented in July 2016 in the Neighborhood Board of El Albujón-Miranda by the vocal of the orange formation, José Francisco García, lastly, in December 2016, the Citizens Group asked again in the plenary session about this issue in view of the delay in its execution.

Finally, after this political pressure, in February 2017 the Government of Cartagena announced that the Infrastructure area had met with the local representatives of the area and that "in a few weeks" they would have prepared the final project.

More than ten months have passed since that announcement, and almost two years since the plenary agreement was passed and neither has it been put out to tender, nor is anything known of that project.

According to the orange training spokesman, "in Citizens we have been able to talk to the neighbors, who have conveyed their dissatisfaction with the passivity of the Executive on this issue, since despite all the time elapsed, the initiatives presented both in the Municipal plenary as in the Neighborhood Board, the plot is still not conditioned and the neighbors are still unable to enjoy this recreational area.

Manuel Padín stressed that "we have also contacted the municipal technicians, and we know of the goodwill of the responsible for Urban Planning, Jacinto Moncada, however, the municipal government still fails to implement this unanimous plenary agreement in breach of its commitment to all neighbors of Miranda.
