The III Canine Carthaginians and Romans will combine leisure with pets with the sport (18/10/2017)

Once the celebrations of Carthaginians and Romans, which on this occasion were recognized as Festivals of International Tourist Interest, Cartagena continues with the acts and activities that the Federation of Troops and Legions program during the year.

For this reason, the Association of Residents of the Residential Complex Santa Ana in collaboration with the Federation of Troops and Legions and the City Council organizes for the third time the Canine Coexistence with the aim of overcoming the participation of the two previous editions.

It will be this Saturday October 21 from 17:00 hours on the esplanade next to the municipal stadium Cartagonova and Camp.

This III Carthaginian and Roman Dog Conviviality will once again merge the enjoyment of leisure time with pets with sport and solidarity with animals, all in a single event.

The Councilor for Archaeological Heritage, Sports and Youth, Ricardo Segado, presented this Wednesday with the technical director of the sports event to be held under the same, Alberto Ferrer.

The public of all ages, from the youngest to the oldest, can participate in various types of test, with or without the company of your dog, as in the Carthago Race Kids (which will incorporate obstacles for greater fun for children and participating girls), the Canine Cross and March and the Popular Cross.

Exhibitions and parades will complete the program of the day.

There will also be ponies and a dog pool.

The schedules, categories, distances and routes can be consulted in the regulation, which is available on the website that has been enabled for the event.

In addition, this initiative has a beneficial character with animal protection associations, so that the collection obtained from the inscriptions will go to the most voted by the public through the consultation that has been launched in the Facebook event created for the occasion.

The users that participate in the election will be able to propose the entities they deem most convenient and will also enter the draw for a hotel night with spa for two people.

The mayor of Sports, Ricardo Segado, stressed that, in addition to its solidarity with these associations that care for abandoned animals, this event "also contributes" to boost tourism in the city.

The registrations, which cost between 6 and 10 euros (3 for solidarity rorals), can be formalized through the website of the Federation of Athletics of the Region of Murcia (FAMU).

There will be trophies at the Canine Cross for the winners of each category, regardless of gender, and the top three in the overall standings;

in the Cross without a dog there will be for the top three in each category and for the top three in the overall standings.

On the other hand, the Canine Parade will reward several animals in various categories: the most graceful dog, the most elegant dog, the most obedient and the most festive (Carthaginian or Roman).

It will be "a family day to enjoy leisure time with pets, with sport and solidarity," said Ricardo Segado, sharing the love of animals with other people and dogs for a good cause, raising funds for associations that are dedicated to caring for those who do not have a family that welcomes them.
