Municipal project

The action devised from the Segado area, valued at 200,000 euros, will be executed with own funds from the Consistory.

The objective is to consolidate the double wall of the bullring, doing it without drilling down.

It is intended to reinforce them in the interior and to leave that 'double u' solid enough to be able to make the excavation underneath.

With this action, it is allowed to have an excavation and a natural transit through the accesses of the Amphitheater.

It is, according to Marí Carmen Berrocal, "a novel project in its design and thought.

He is absolutely respectful of the idea of consolidating an emerging building over another underlying one, such as the Amphitheater. "

After the meeting, Ricardo Segado expressed his satisfaction with the "good receptivity" of the new general director, while relying on "that with this meeting and the following, we can advance in projects beneficial to the rich historical and archaeological heritage of Cartagena ".

House of the Child

The mayor of the area of Culture and Patrimony has also requested information on the status of the process to declare the Casa del Niño as a Cultural Interest Property (BIC), a request that was requested from the regional administration six months ago.

It has been reported from the General Directorate that studies continue in this aspect, a moment taken by Ricardo Segado to demand speed in its execution.

Plan of recovery of windmills

He has also been interested in the situation of the Plan announced last February by the regional government for the recovery of windmills, which has not been heard since.

The Culture and Heritage area made available two projects, the Mill of the Stones and the Mill of the Asomada, whose wording has been finalized.

At this point, Lorca has noted that until there is a Master Plan it is impossible to release budget to act in any mill.

House Llagostera

On the other hand, different projects have been addressed pending report and resolution by the General Directorate of Cultural Property as Casa Llagostera.

Lorca has notified that consultative reports have been requested from different bodies such as professional colleges of architects, road engineers and the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena.

Once this information is gathered, a meeting between administrations and owners will be promoted to define the action plan on the property.

Other issues

Taking advantage of the meeting, Ricardo Segado has requested that the next regional budgets include funding for actions of interest to the municipality, such as the Canteras Romans, Victoria Caves and the Roman Amphitheater, as well as the C-5 battery, near Cala Cortina Which has been proposed a use), and windmills.

During the meeting, Juan Antonio Lorca has made a commitment to Ricardo Segado to hold periodic bimonthly meetings to meet the needs of a city such as Cartagena, which has an enormous historical and archaeological heritage.

Permission request

Finally, Segado and Berrocal have indicated that shortly will be submitted the application for permits to act on the tiles of Trovero Marín Avenue, an initiative that is understood as suitable to be in a BIC environment.
