The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, visited today in Cartagena the Home of Provision of the Good Samaritan, for the attention of the most vulnerable groups.
After the visit, he recalled that his department finances with 25,000 euros to this organization, through the decree for the granting of subsidies to non-profit institutions, for the development of actions to fight poverty in the Region of Murcia.
"This funding goes to the attention of marginalized groups, people with addiction problems or homeless, families at risk of poverty and immigrants without work, among others," said the counselor.
The Good Samaritan Provision Home seeks to alleviate the needs of these groups, and opened a social eatery and three shelters for men, the elderly and families.
At the beginning of 2015 the social dining room was converted into a food supply home where basic foods such as meat, eggs, bread, oil, fruits and vegetables, legumes and pasta were distributed.
The Provision Home is open every Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for food distribution.
In addition, the center also offers a personal grooming service and clothing.
"The attention of the Good Samaritan is integral, since they also have a team of qualified people to advise and integrate labor and reintegrate people in society. At the same time, they have homes for people who do not have a place to sleep , Nor a family that welcomes them, "explained the counselor.
With the help of the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, they maintain their centers, conduct educational talks, reinsert people with addiction problems, and carry out occupational skills workshops, job search assistance and information services for foreigners, with Help in formalities or courses of Spanish.
