The Anti-aircraft Artillery Regiment No. 73 will publicly commemorate the heroic uprising against Napoleon and his troops led by the captains of Artillery Daoíz and Velarde, along with other soldiers and the people of Madrid.
As it is being traditional, on May 2, around 12:00, there will be a military stop at the Port of Cartagena in which it will be remembered such a marked gesture.
The Force will be formed by Squadron, Band and a Battery of Honors with Line of Salvos of Canons of Time.
During the ceremony honors will be given to the National Teaching and to the authority that will preside over the act, CGTAD deputy general, Fernando Garcia-Vaquero Pradal.
A wide representation of the Consistory will be present in this solemn act.
Thus, among other authorities and representatives, the mayor of Cartagena, José López;
The Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejón;
The councilman of Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón;
The councilman of Transparency, Juan Pedro Torralba;
The Councilor for Sports, Ricardo Segado;
The councilor delegate of Hacienda, Isabel García;
The councilor delegate of Tourism, Obdulia Gómez;
And the delegate councilor of Portal and Office of Transparency, María José Soler.
In this commemoration the figure of Daoíz and Velarde will be glossed and the events of that day will be narrated.
The oath of Bandera of civilian personnel and the homage to those who gave their life for Spain will be other relevant moments of the celebration.
Different decorations will also be imposed on Regiment personnel.
The audience present in the vicinity of the Royal Scale and the Plaza de los Heroes in Santiago de Cuba and Cavite will witness an exception, one more year, of the testimony of memory for those who carried out such a glorious feat.
