| The Mayor of Cartagena has explained that "the situation is alarming and that the person responsible must move" | This Wednesday, September 30, the Board of Directors of the Cartagena Port Authority met, in which all members have reached a consensus regarding the issue of migration policies, to convey "clearly and unanimously to the Government Delegate that the situation is alarming and that it must move "as pointed out at the end of the meeting by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, with respect to the massive arrival of boats to the Port of Cartagena. For her part, the president of the Port Authority, Yolanda Muñoz, added that "the Board of Directors has asked the Government Delegation for explanations about which is the alternative of the location of immigrants to the Escombreras Pier".Muñoz affirmed that "it is not a suitable site" since it was a "provisional site" that is now being used without authorization, since it ended on September 15.The mayor wanted to highlight "the public recognition of all the directors who are part of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority, to the work that the Port Authority of Cartagena has carried out assuming all the weight when looking for sites, when not it's exactly your competition.

""We are not only concerned with the safety and public health of all citizens, but also a storm can generate an episode that any responsible leader must take into account to accelerate the situation," concluded Castejón.
