The Governing Board approves the call for subsidies to disability entities for an amount of 100,000 euros (19/09/2020)

| These are "aid for the development of programs and the improvement of infrastructures to guarantee the best service to its users", as announced by the vice mayors, Noelia Arroyo | The Governing Board approved this Friday, September 18, the bases and call for the granting of subsidies, in a competitive competition regime, to social action entities for people with disabilities, with an amount of 100,000 euros.

“With this call we are going to subsidize for the first time up to 100% the projects with which the entities that work in the world of disability in the municipality of Cartagena will participate, some aid aimed at the development of programs and the improvement of infrastructures for guarantee the best service to its users ”, announced the vice mayor and councilor of the Social Welfare Area, Noelia Arroyo.Arroyo recalled that "the Covid19 health crisis has forced social entities to adapt to new needs and intensify their actions with people with disabilities, which has meant an enormous effort of material and human resources for them," he recalled Arroyo who stressed that "in this situation, the City Council could not sit idly by and we also wanted to adapt the aid to the new reality that our entities are experiencing.For this, the basis for the granting of subsidies, in a competitive competition regime, allows raising the limit of 50 percent established in the Basis of Budget Execution to 100%.

The purpose of this call is to co-finance the capital expenditures of the Social Action Entities, which develop programs in the field of social services, related to the development of the II Municipal Disability Plan, approved at the end of last year, and specifically with specific programs.“In the municipality of Cartagena, we have around 35 social entities that work with people with disabilities and with this aid we want to continue supporting the enormous work they do, which is key to serving groups especially vulnerable to the social and economic crisis derived from COVID 19 ”, Concluded the deputy mayor.
