Nine charities in Cartagena receive more than 700 kilos of fish for Carmen Day (16/07/2020)

| In total 720 kilos have been donated, which has included: bocalao, boquerón, sardines and gilthead sea bream | As is tradition, on the occasion of the Virgen del Carmen festival, the Fishermen's Association has delivered batches of fish to the charitable centers of Cartagena, although in a format without crowds, due to the COVID health crisis- 19.

In total, 720 kilos of fish have been distributed, including bocalao, boquerón, sardina and dorada.The nine entities that have received this Monday, July 16, the batches of fish have been: the Casa Cuna, Hospital de Caridad, Nursing Home, Hospitality Santa Teresa, Torre de Nazaret, Cistencienses Sisters, Hogar de Betania, Comedor Social Good Samaritan and the Solidarity Dining Room "Jesus, Teacher and Shepherd".The event took place in the Fish Market of Santa Lucía with the assistance of the Deputy Mayor, Noelia Arroyo, of the Master Pattern of the Brotherhood, Bartolomé Navarro and of representatives of all the entities benefited by the batches of fish.The Deputy Mayor stressed that "in extraordinary moments the fishermen have been focused on the needs of the families of Cartagena, the work they do is marked in their day to day by their solidarity with social entities." Arroyo explained that you should consume "fresh fish, the one with the blue label" since "it is a nice way of recognizing the work of the fishermen of the Cartagena Brotherhood and their patron throughout the year."
