The American cartoonist, Alitha Martínez, gave a workshop on the creation of comics in the afternoon of March 29, at the Youth Resource Center of Cartagena.

Participating in this activity were young people enrolled in reading committees of the Mandarache Prize as well as in the literary creation workshop Libreta Mandarache, artistic baccalaureate students and members of the Barrio Peral comic workshop.

In addition, it counted on the presence of the councilman of Youth, David Martinez.

Alitha Martínez also taught a masterclass in the morning before 200 students of the IES Isaac Peral, in the Encounters with Author of the Mandarache Program.

The violinist of Iron Man or Batgirl was visiting Cartagena, in a tour of Spain that takes him this week also to Barcelona, ​​Valencia and Murcia.

Alitha Martinez is a cartoonist known for her drawings for the characters Iron Man (Marvel), NBC's Heroes and Batgirl (DC).

He began to stand out in Marvel with titles like Iron Man or Marvel Age: Fantastic Four, where he shone with a style focused on the younger audience.

In 2012 he began to collaborate with DC Entertainment on the Batgirl series.

She is co-creator of the villain Knightfall in Batgirl and participated in the special commemorative edition of Riverdale by Archie Comics.

In addition, Martinez contributed drawings for the comic series World of Wakanda, a spin-off of Black Panther (Marvel).
