Citizens link the new parking rates of Santa Lucia to their project to create a free parking (13/02/2019)

- "It is clear that you could not continue to charge those abusive prices with the competition of a free public parking a few meters", said the spokesman of Cs Cartagena reminds the Government of Cartagena that "must reactivate the work of parking (amendment of Cs in 2018) if you want our Municipal Group to negotiate the 2019 accounts "

On the occasion of the news published today by the newspaper La Verdad, in which the new prices of the current car park of the Santa Lucía Hospital, which will come into force at midnight tonight, have been announced, Cs Cartagena spokesman Manuel Padín has ensured that, "the construction of a free parking deterrent in the vicinity of the Hospital, the result of the amendment of Cs to the municipal budgets of 2018, has obviously also caused effects on the decline in current prices, which were completely abusive. It is evident that our project of a totally free public parking has normalized this situation ".

In addition, Manuel Padin reminds the PSOE that "must reactivate the work for the first phase of free parking (180 seats expandable to 600 in a second phase) if you want Cs to negotiate the accounts for 2019, the works stopped at the end of 2018 "

"The real objective of Citizens is that as soon as possible people who have to travel in their vehicle to go to the Hospital to any consultation, to visit a family member or for any other reason, do not have to pay any amount", explained Manuel Padín that he remembers that "once the works on the Beatas and Adjacent streets are reactivated, it is only necessary to start up the works of the parking lot so that we can be in a position to negotiate the next municipal budgets".

The orange training spokesman recalled that his group has denounced since the beginning of 2019, the stoppage of the works of the future free parking, "this is a consequence of not having foreseen the need to endow this project with a commitment of multiannual expenditure, which would have allowed its continuation as of January 1 ".

According to Manuel Padín, if the PSOE had complied with the Cs agreement, "today we would be closer to being able to save the Cartagena people the expense of going to the hospital, or the uncertainty and fear of leaving the car in the nearby lots, controlled by the gorillas, without any kind of vigilance and turned into quagmires every time it rains in the municipality.
