The Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia (OSRM) will offer from Saturday 26 January a new season of payment in the El Batel Auditorium in Cartagena that will bring together some of the best soloists and directors of the current music scene as the violinist and director Frenchman David Grimal, clarinetist José Franch-Ballester, violinist Laura Rodríguez, violist Isabel Villanueva and pianist Joaquín Achúcarro.

Tickets, and a subscription for the whole cycle, can already be purchased at the auditorium box office and on the web www.auditorioelbatel.es

In the first concert, which will take place on Saturday, January 26, the training will be accompanied by David Grimal who, in his dual role of director and musician, a fact that has made him known worldwide, will offer a monographic program of Beethoven, which will begin with the Concert for violin and orchestra, and culminate with what is probably the most universal work of music, the Fifth Symphony.

On Friday, February 15, the Symphony Orchestra will be put at the orders of its titular director, Virginia Martínez, who will lead an ambitious program of American music that will begin with one of the most prominent clarinetists of the current scene, the Valencian José Franch-Ballester, who will perform the Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra of Corigliano.

Next, the regional symphony will put on the lecterns 'An American in Paris', by Gershwin, and 'Divertimento for orchestra', by Bernstein.

The violinist Laura Rodríguez, member of the well-known Trío Bacarisse, and the violist Isabel Villanueva, one of the great revelations of the world of music, who has, among other recognitions, the Prize The Critical Eye of Classical Music of RNE, they will perform together on Sunday, May 12, the Sinfonia concertante for violin and viola by Mozart.

The orchestra, with Virginia Martínez to the baton, will close this concert with the Symphony No. 104, 'London', by Haydn.

To conclude the cycle, on Thursday, May 23, the OSRM and its principal director will receive one of the great figures of music worldwide, the pianist Joaquín Achúcarro from Bilbao.

At 86, and after a career full of recognitions and collaborations with the best musicians in the world, he arrives in Cartagena to offer the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra by Grieg.

The musicians will put the finishing touch to the concert and to the cycle with a selection of the symphonic poems belonging to 'Mi Patria', by Smetana.

Tickets for each of the concerts of the cycle are already on sale and have a single price of 12 euros.

You can also buy tickets for the four concerts programmed for 30 euros, which, in addition to guaranteeing the same location for all programs, is an important saving compared to the individual locations.
