The Sports Palace celebrated the great celebration of the Local Football League The closing ceremony was attended by more than 5,000 people, including players, technicians, referees, managers of the 41 participating clubs (15/06/2018)

The Sports Palace of Cartagena dressed up as a party, to close the season of the Regional Baseball League of Cartagena 2017-2018.

The closing ceremony was attended by more than 5,000 people including players, technicians, referees, managers of the 41 participating clubs, as well as family members and fans who enjoyed a great recreational-sporting day on Thursday afternoon, June 14th.

The Mayoress of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, attended this celebration of children's sport;

the Councilor for Sports, Obdulia Gómez;

the spokesman of the municipal team, Manuel Padín;

the general director of Sports of the Autonomous Community of the Region, Alonso Gómez;

the sports director of the Murcia Football Federation, Jesús Rosagro, all the presidents of the participating clubs and the sponsors.

The act began with a parade on the track of the Palacio de Deportes of all the teams that have participated in this season.

Next, a video was projected summarizing the past and present of this championship in images.

The video also contained various congratulations from elite athletes and soccer players who have participated in this championship and who are now professionals.

Afterwards, the 'Vamos Juntos' sports campaign was developed, developed throughout the season.

Next, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, expressed her appreciation and congratulations to all those who have formed the team and to the participants of the championship in these 25 years of history.

The awards ceremony was also given where the athletes were recognized: Mayte Mateo, captain of the women's team;

Jimbee Roldán, Spanish indoor soccer champion;

Javier Madrid, analyst of the Club Atlético de Madrid, champion of the Europa League, and former coach of the championship;

and it was also recognized with a prize to the CD Primi-Sport, after proclaiming champion of Spain of disabled sport;

to the Cartagena Rhythmic Club, for having obtained, one of its mixed senior teams, the World Championship in the modality of aesthetic gymnastics;

and finally, Sergio Jiménez on behalf of FC Cartagena, for having been champion of group IV of the second division 'B', accompanying him in the delivery, Cartagena players, Arturo and Gonzalo Verdú, who were championship players in the first editions of the base football championship.

The General Directorate of Sports of the Autonomous Community and the Football Federation of the Region of Murcia recognized the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena support for children's sport with the celebration of this school championship.

The closing ceremony also hosted an emotional ceremony for the recent death of Isidro Sánchez, historical delegate of Cartagena FC, where his daughter, Rosario Sánchez, received a commemorative detail.

Next, a special recognition was made to the Delegation of Arbitrators of Cartagena, for its good work throughout the season, to the Cartagena teams promoted from federated league, to the most sporting teams of the 'Fair Play' campaign, to those of participation, especially pacifiers and baby bottles -which do not compete- and finally, trophies were awarded to the winners of the Regular League and League champion of all the participating categories, as well as the commemorative medals, for being a special edition, to all the players and technicians of the championship.

Before the celebration, on the outside of the sports facility Jimbee Melon company put a stand with tastings of its melon for all attendees.

A stand was also prepared inside the central track, to collect sports equipment for help in action in Madagascar from the NGO Baobab, where the clubs were delivering a good amount of it.

This championship is organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and has had the support of the General Directorate of Sports of the Autonomous Community, the Football Federation of the Region of Murcia, the Association of Clubs of the District of Cartagena ( AFCT) and the Official College of Graduates in Physical Education.
